On the 16th and 17th of February, the 1st meeting of the Erasmus + project “Rural Development for Employment” took place, which aims to explore the possibilities of rural development to face the depopulation of villages, through sustainable tourism and cooperative economy.
The meeting took place in Brussels - Belgium, where representatives of the project partners - Belgian, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Greek and Portuguese are present.
In this meeting they were defined as sub-themes to work the dynamic and contemporary history around the depopulation in Europe; how restocking is related to employment in rural areas; recovery of old villages through community development and promotion of local heritage; sustainable commercial activities, such as ethical and bio-architectural tourism; how to create connections in rural communities (and villages) through social networks and ICT tools.
